↗ one ascent, most of the trail is along an unpaved path


  from the top chairlift station on Medvědín along the blue trail to Horní Mísečky
 at the first crossroads, turn onto the red trail (Masarykova silnice) and go up until you reach Vrbatova bouda
 from Vrbatova bouda, return along Masarykova silnice; at the intersection with the red tourist trail, turn towards Šmídova vyhlídka, and then continue along the red trail back to Medvědín



Interesting facts:

  • This trail is not difficult and you can even do it with a baby pram.
  • Most of the trail is along a paved path.
  • Masarykova horská silnice (Masaryk's mountain road) was opened in 1936; it leads from Hrabačov (415m above sea level) to Vrbatova Bouda (1407 m above sea level), and today its name is used for its highest part between Horní Mísečky and Vrbatova bouda.
  • The tumulus above Vrbatova bouda on Zlaté návrší was built to commemorate the tragic event of 24 March 1913, when Czech skier Bohumil Hanč and his friend Václav Vrbata, who tried to help him, died here in a snowstorm during a 50 km ski race.
  • Vrbatova bouda was also named after Václav Vrbata.
  • This day fell on the 24th of March of the Mountain Rescue Service.
