Disc golf is one of the most widespread flying saucer sports, derived from classic golf. It originated in the 1970s in the USA and is gaining more and more fans worldwide. The aim of the game is, like golf, to complete a hole in as few strokes as possible - i.e. throws. The disc is thrown from a designated 'tee' to the target (hole). The hole consists of a steel basket. The average distance of the hole is around 50 metres and can be achieved in three throws. After the first throw, the player throws from where the disc has stopped and continues until it hits the target. The winner is the one who completes the entire course with the least number of throws.
