Downhill Trails for Mountain Bikes in Svatý Petr
Black Trail – length 2100 m, descent 450m – Operational Rules
The track begins at the tower next to the upper station of the Pláň chair lift.
The trail follows the chair lift line right under the chairs. It is very technically demanding with difficult parts that can be managed only by experienced cyclists. Its characteristics comply with all the requirements for both national and international races. There are both natural and artificial jumps, short wooden bridges and its surface consists of clay, stones, forest soil with roots, as well as of small stones.
Red Trail – length 2800m, descent 450m –Operational Rules
The run begins at the tower next to the upper station of the Pláň chair lift. It follows the blue downhill trail with frequent turnoffs leading into the surrounding forest. It is less technically difficult with rather a free-ride character and it is suitable for a wider range of cyclists. There are a number of slopes, clay and wooden jumps, wooden bridges, and many sections of its surface are gravelled for a smoother and more pleasant ride.
Blue Trail – length 7 km, descent 430 m – Operational Rules
The trail starts in the proximity of the upper station of the Pláň chair lift. It runs on gravel and asphalt paths and the lower part of the trail runs on a concrete panel road. It is a pleasant, scenic ride for complete beginners and for families with small children who can handle a bike well.
Stump Trail – length 500m – Operational Rules
The stump trail leads from the upper station called Hromovka. It is a trail designed rather for more advanced and experienced cyclists who can fully enjoy themselves on profesionally created bridges with a number of jumps, slopes, artificial waves and other challenges for bikers.
You can join the trail from the existing downhill mountain-bike trail close to the upper station of the Hromovka chair lift. After half a kilometre, the Stump Trail rejoins the original downhill trail again and continues on to Svatý Petr.
All the trails are marked with arrow signs in the colour of the relevant trail.
We recommend you to go on the black and red trails only with an integral helmet and protective pads; on the blue trail it is sufficient to use an ordinary bike helmet.
We have prepared a special one-day ticket (8am – 6pm) for bikers, which is available at the Svatý Petr cash desk for CZK 350.
The patron and co-creator of all trails in Svatý Petr is Michal Maroši, the current Czech master in downhill racing.
